Be Blue

BE BLUE, an interactive, community-driven art activation launched at the Summer Solstice celebration on June 21 (aka Father’s Day) at the @parksvillemuseum(Parksville, BC).

Beginning with a simple question, what does it mean to be blue? Participants are invited to explore through drawing, wordplay, and visual storytelling. Inspired by homophones and the many meanings we attach to B, Be, Bee, and Blue.

As each person contributes, BE BLUE evolves into a collaborative, community-built story. One that weaves together shared expressions of emotion and imagination.

This project is especially close to my heart. I created the original Be Blue story in honour of my dad, who had a condo in Parksville before his passing. Bringing this heart-centred project to a place that meant something to him feels deeply meaningful.
